KMWE in Eindhoven

Since January 2019, KMWE has operated from a new 16,000 m² hall on the BIC industry campus in Eindhoven. BVo Advies Ontwerp & Installatie designed, installed and digitalized the complete electrical installation for both the offices and the production floor. The production process alone requires 7,500 Ampere, drawn from three transformers of 2,500 Ampere each. All communication across the offices and production areas runs from five field patch cabinets and a central MER room, connected by 60 kilometres of CCA U/FTP data cabling along with the necessary Wi-Fi access points.

We also digitalized KMWE's electrical installation and provide ongoing advice, giving them clear insight into an installation that changes regularly as their machine park evolves, while helping them stay compliant with Dutch Arbo legislation and NEN 3140:2007. Separately, we arranged a new connection for their workshop on Croy in Eindhoven.

For KMWE's new ISO5 cleanroom, we advised on the choice of cleanroom armatures and carried out a full lighting calculation. Because one area requires green light for specific inspection tasks, we specified Zumtobel's ISO5 cleanroom armature, with six fixtures fitted with additional green LEDs so staff can select the light they need at any given moment. A touch screen lets operators control every lamp individually, while occupancy sensors dim the lighting to 30% when no movement is detected, and switch panels in the adjoining rooms provide local control. The aim throughout was to create exactly the right light level for a range of inspection tasks, while saving energy and keeping the system easy to operate.
